Canadian Government uses Abydos products to automate SRM
05-Feb-2010
Abydos are pleased to announce that Indian and Northern Affairs, Canada (INAC), part of the the Canadian Federal Government has successfully completed deployment of the Abydos toolset to accelerate the design, development and deployment of their Service Request Management application, effectively eliminating the need for time-consuming and costly development to deliver their business processes.
This application was required to address the multiple types of service requests that are received and processed by INAC on a regular basis, to deal with employee joiners and leavers, moves and changes and other related service requests
The Abydos Designer tool was selected because it provided an intuitive process design environment coupled with effective integration to BMC Remedy to drive the process in real-time. This approach hugely accelerated the time taken to deploy the processes, saving between 6 months and 1 year of development time.
Abydos Designer also allowed INAC to automate their processes without the need for programming or re-development. After a year of process design and analysis, INAC have now created over 750 processes using Abydos Designer with each process ranging from 4 or 5 steps to 25 steps or more.
INAC also purchased the Abydos Analyser tool to help them automate the documentation of workflow and for knowledge transfer. INAC described this tool as a huge bonus for knowledge transfer saving at least 50-60% in familiarization time for new administrators which they believe no other tool can provide.
